Background

The market is flooded with low cost and low innovation products all offering the same function and aesthetics. With growing media attention around food waste and mounting social pressures to reduce the amount we throw away we identified an opportunity to develop a range of products that would help address these issues and bringing innovation and desirability to the category.

Brief

To develop an ownable idea that brings innovation and desirable design to the fridge & freezer storage category. The USP should allow Joseph Joseph to offer containers as individual items in a range of different sizes and shapes.

Solution

A range of food storage containers that are designed to stop food waste by allowing you to date the contents using a rotating dial on the lid. It can easily be set to any date, so by choosing either the use by date or the date you stored the food, you can make sure it’s used before it
